SHEPHERD Pinot NoirThe RegionBordered by Rheinhessen on the north and France on the south/west, the Pfalz area is Germany’s second largest wine-growing region. Nearly 40% of the entire area under vine in the Pfalz-region is dedicated to red wine grape varieties. Amongst the many varieties are ones which you would normally expect to find in more southern regions such as Merlot, Cabernet Franc or Cabernet Sauvignon. The southern Pfalz is somewhat warmer than the northern portion of the region, where the cooler climate yields very fruit-driven wines with moderate alcohol content. The WineOur “Shepherd Pinot Noir” shows the classic elegance of a Pinot Noir at its best.
