PINOT NOIR & CABERNET SAUVIGNON

The Region

Bordered by Rheinhessen on the north and France on the south/west, the Pfalz area is Germany’s second largest wine-growing region. Nearly 40% of the entire area under vine in the Pfalz-region is dedicated to red wine grape varieties. Amongst the many varieties are ones which you would normally expect to find in more southern regions such as Merlot, Cabernet Franc or Cabernet Sauvignon. The southern Pfalz is somewhat warmer than the northern portion of the region, where the cooler climate yields very fruit-driven wines with moderate alcohol content.

The Wine

With our “Pinot Noir & Cabernet Sauvignon” we have combined two exceptional varieties which render the wine elegance and power. Approximately one-third of the Cabernet matures for up to twelve months in barrique. Surely, for a German red wine this is an unconvential composition of two very unique varieties, but truly a great pleasure to enjoy.
